Hey, thanks for being here. I aim to provide a therapy experience unlike any other. I am holistic in my approach, which means I want to look at the big picture. Therapy can sometimes feel too clinical, or too fluffy. I believe it should be approachable, relatable, and collaborative. I look forward to being a part of your journey.

Meet Paula Mackay
Hi, I'm Paula
I am a Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker based in Kelowna, BC, with over a decade of experience working in non-profit and healthcare settings. My journey in the field of helping people began much like many others, with play. Whether I was pretending to be a teacher, a mom, or a nurse, I have always been drawn to different ways of helping people. While completing my Bachelor of Social Work from University of Manitoba, I worked in Calgary for 8 years in the non-profit sector with people who use substances and had additional vulnerabilities. Some of my most profound learning and rewarding work came from this environment. I wanted to dig deeper, therefore made the move to Kelowna in 2022 to complete my Masters of Social Work Degree from the University of British Columbia Okanagan. I have since continued with my passion of serving others, in the deeply meaningful way of counselling.
I've discovered the challenges that come with navigating the often-separated realms of physical and mental health care. I prioritize an integrated approach knowing that physical health directly impacts mental health, and vice versa. Let's cope with symptoms, and also address the cause.
When not in session, you can find me hiking or snowshoeing the gorgeous Okanagan hills, hanging with my feline fur-babes, or baking up some delicious cookies. You may spot me at your favorite local fitness class, or at one of the many wonderful bakeries around town getting a sweet treat.
